Biographical / Historical
The first Science Hall was built at the State Normal School was built in 1896 to provide the space and materials for students to explore scientific fields. In 1951, Stevens Hall was dedicated to former professor Edith Stevens who taught biology from 1928-1945. As a teacher training school many graduates focused on science in preparation to teach it to elementary and high school students.
