    Scope and Contents

The World War I scrapbook is an album printed by New York Frederick A. Stokes Company Publishers, copyrighted 1910, and titled "My School Days A Record" with frontispiece by John Rae and Decorative Borders by Edith and Mildred Cowles. It is a beautifully illustrated commonplace book made for a young girl to keep her memoirs but has been used instead as a scrapbook for World War I. Pages are preprinted with events like "Girls basketball" but there are newspaper clippings about the war pasted throughout the book. Inside the scrapbook, a small handwritten diary documenting a soldier's daily activities including marching and camp life was found and is believed to be written by Ralph R. Jones.

In addition to items relating to World War I, there are also photographs from the Mexican Border Service 1916-1917.
