Biographical / Historical

Robert August Earle was born in 1906 in Montclair, New Jersey. He graduated from VMI in 1927. During World War II he was a Marine Corps officer. He was also a captain with the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey. Earle died in 1991 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Scope and Contents

This collection (approximately 100 items; 1923-1964) consists of items related to Robert A. Earle, including: A VMI scrapbook (1923-1927) that includes photos from Earle's service in the Marine Corps during World War II (Pacific Theater) Papers and photographs dating from Earle's 37 year career with the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey Military papers
