Biographical / Historical
Joseph R. Lunbeck was born in 1837 in Ross County, Ohio to Isaac Lunbeck (1796-1874) and Rowena Gibson (1803-1888). During the Civil War he was a Union soldier and first served with Company B of the 26th Ohio Infantry Regiment (Fullerton Rifles) before serving as a hospital steward. In 1863 he married Agnes E. Truslow (1837-1908). Lunbeck died in 1913 and is buried in Grandview Cemetery (Plot: Section 9C), Chillicothe, Ohio.
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the Civil War papers (eight items) of Union soldier Joseph R. Lunbeck, including a regimental roster, documents pertaining to his appointment as hospital steward, and requisitions.
