Biographical / Historical
Frederick Taylor Amiss was born in 1866. He graduated from VMI in 1886 and went on to become a civil engineer. He died in 1942.
Scope and Contents
This collection (four items) contains one letter (dated December 14, 1884) from Cadet Frederick T. Amiss to his father. Amiss describes in detail the confrontation between cadets and Commandant Scott Shipp regarding an investigation into an explosion of the VMI magazine.This collection also includes three photographs of Amiss (circa 1886), which are all avaliable online .
