Some records may be restricted. Archives staff must review the collection for restricted material before research access is granted.

Access to certain categories of archival records is restricted because they contain material protected under federal or state statutes governing privacy and confidentiality. Examples include, but are not limited to, student, personnel, and medical records.

Biographical / Historical

Herbert N. Dillard, Jr., VMI Class of 1934, was a professor of English at VMI from the 1930's until his death in 1976. He was also the Director of the VMI Glee Club.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of Dillard's office files, including correspondence, syllabi, and other records relating to his teaching career.
