Scope and Content
The Theda Gibson Papers include the correspondence of Gibson, a librarian at the Wise County, Virginia, Lonesome Pine Regional Public Library to American celebrities and political figures. The collection contains photocopies of letters to Gibson, answering her query about favorite books. Some of the celebrities include Alan Alda, Melvin Belli, Jimmy Carter, Julia Child, Ann Landers, Norman Lear, Margaret Mead, Barbara Walters, O. J. Simpson, Cher, First Lady Mrs. Ford, and Lawrence Welk.

The collection is arranged chronologically, with two undated letters at the end.
