Processing Information

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute Sweater was completed in June 2025. Preliminary description was completed in 2016.

Scope and Content

The sweater is made up of a standard knit pattern, using maroon colored wool yarn. On the chest of the sweater it reads "1908," which has been sewn on in an orange fabric. The collar, sleeves, and waist of the sweater have a ribbed pattern, comprised of a knit 1 purl 1 knitting pattern. The sweater does not have any labels and may possibly be handmade. The condition is good, no obvious signs of wear.
