The processing, arrangement, and description of the Virginia Tech Bag was completed in June 2025. Preliminary description was completed in 2019.
Historical
Atchison Leather INC., also known as the Berger Company today, manufactures leather goods for wholesale. The company was founded in 1908 and had created a wide variety of leather products since then. Some examples of their products include: horse bridles, knife sheaths, and more, stating that they aim to make change as demands change.

Scope and Contents
This is a pyramidical maroon and orange bag with "VIRGINIA TECH" (in print or block lettering), "Hokies" (in cursive), and the long-necked Fighting Gobbler emblem on each side. The bag has white stitching and piping along the sides with a zipper closure. The handles are black with metal hardware. The inside of the bag is a white canvas material with a hard corkboard base at the bottom. The inside of the bag has a tag that reads "ATCHISON LEATHER INC. ATCHISON, KANSAS." The conditon of the bag is fair, some minor discoloration/stains.
