Biographical note
James Glover served in the Union army during the American Civil War and was stationed at Fort Powhatan, James River, Virginia, in 1864. There is no further information on James Glover.
Scope and Content
This collection contains two letters from the American Civil War written by James Glover, a Union soldier. The first letter was written on June 29, 1864, at Fort Powhatan, James River, Virginia. The letter is six handwritten pages and has an embossed logo in the top left corner. The second letter was written July 24, 1864, at Fort Powhatan. The letter is three handwritten pages and talks about the steamer boats on the James River, original envelope is included.
