Scope and Contents

This collection includes an edited typescript titled "Notes on Arnold's Valley" by Washington and Lee University faculty member Miles Poindexter. Poindexter read this paper to the Rockbridge Historical Society (RHS) at their quarterly meeting on October 27, 1941. This is noted in Volume Two of the "Proceedings of the Rockbridge Historical Society." Also included in this collection are two drafts of a paper written for Lexington, Virginia's Ignorance Club on the history of the Arnold Family of Arnold's Valley along with sketches on the earliest homes and the families who built them in Rockbridge County.
