Scope and Contents

This collection consists of about approximately thirty letters written by Sergeant Lou Onofrio to his "sweetheart" Colette Cantwell of Bradford, Pennsylvania. Onofrio was an American soldier and the letters were written in 1916-1919 from camps in America and from France. The majority of the letters are from 1918 and 1919.  The letters primarily document the relationship of the two correspondents.
