Biographical Information:

David Cox was an English landscape painter who worked in watercolor. He was a scene painter in and near London, who also etched on copper and painted in oils. Cox wrote books on art. Letters, 22 January 1838 written by David Cox, the English painter, to an unidentified addressee stating he is behind in his work and will visit as soon as possible and sending regards to "dear pupil"; and letter, n.d., [?] Waley, sending regards from Mr. and Mrs. Cox.
