Scope and Contents

Letter from F.H. Hite to R. Gilkerson in Churchville, Augusta County, Virginia about his trip from Augusta to Cincinnati, Ohio.  He is currently in Memphis, Tennessee.  "There was 1035 miles i rode in a cart and i was very sick all the way through...arrived at Cincinnati....I have had one of my toes taken off since I've been here..."  August 30, 1852.
