Scope and Contents

Papers, circa 1980s-2000s, of Gil and Connie Granger of Williamsburg, Virginia. Gil Granger was mayor of Williamsburg from 1996 to 1998. The papers primarily deal with local political issues in Williamsburg and Yorktown, including land development, the visits of foreign dignitaries, and the Williamsburg Regional Library.

Mss. Acc. 2012.321 primarily concerns Gil Granger's term as mayor of Williamsburg as well as the operations of Virginia Broadcasters, an organization run by Gil Granger.

Mss. Acc. 2012.332 primarily concerns Gil Granger's term as mayor of Williamsburg as well as his time on the city council after his term as mayor ended.

Mss. Acc. 2012.333 primarily concerns Gil Granger's work with various radio stations in Williamsburg and the surrounding area.

Mss. Acc. 2012.343 primarily concerns Gil Granger's term on Williamsburg's City Council and his other political activities outside of Williamsburg.

Mss. Acc. 2012.384 primarily concerns Granger's term on Williamsburg's City Council and his other political activities outside of Williamsburg, focusing on economic development in Williamsburg.

Mss. Acc. 2013.053 primarily concerns Gil Granger's term on Williamsburg's City Council, the economic development of Williamsburg, as well as Homecomings and the Tercentenary celebration at the College of William and Mary.

Mss. Acc. 2015.241 consists primarily of certificates/accolades presented to Gil Granger, his membership cards to various organizations, photographs, clippings, and publications.

Acc. 2016.168 consists primarily of publications and compilations of studies and statistics of Williamsburg and surrounding areas donated by the couple.
