Biographical Information:

John Strode Barbour was born in 1790 in Culpeper Co., Va. He graduated from the College of William and Mary. After studying law, he was admitted to the bar. He served in Virginia House of Delegates. He served in U. S. Congress from 1823-1833 and was a member of the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1829/30. Barbour died in 1855.
