Scope and Contents
Account book of Abraham Grove of Shenandoah, Virginia. He appears to be a woodworker with entries for making a wheelbarrow, a wagon, a rake and work done on houses. Also has entries for his own purchases. Index by first names included.
On page 165, he has entered births, deaths and marriages, summarized: Abraham Grove and Elisabeth Coffman married December 5, 1815, son John born November 16, 1816, Polly born February 7, 1818, Isaac born Jan. 13, 1820, Eliza Ann born November 8, 1821, William born June 4, 1824 and all children (above) baptised on August 26, 1824 by (illegible). James H. born on February 23, 1829, Jemima and Sarah Catherine born Sept. 22, 1831, Jemima died March 12, 1835, Joseph born April 24, 1834, Andrew Jackson born May 26, 1836, Polly married to Joseph Parker on June 9, 1839, Isaac married to Mary on October 20, 1844, Eliza Ann married to Benjamin Coffman on January 30, 1845 and John was married to Sarah Hosenflook on May 15, 1850.
