Conditions Governing Access

Collection is open to all researchers. Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information that is protected under federal or state right to privacy laws and regulations, such as the Virginia Public Records Act (Code of Virginia. § 42.1-76-91); and the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (Code of Virginia § 2.2-3705.5). Confidential material may include, but is not limited to, educational, medical, and personnel records. If sensitive material is found in this collection, please contact a staff member immediately. Scope and Contents

Notebook, 1916, kept by Milwan Sekulick, who was most likely a soldier in the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I. The volume is titled "Weihnachten im Felde" and was issued by the K.u.K. Kriegsministerium, Kriegsfuersorgeamt, Wien, 1916. The notebook includes diary style entries in both German and a second language that according to the seller is Hungarian, Also contains notes relating to military tasks, for example, a table titled: Schusselemente fuer das III. Geschuetz.

The front of the volume includes a table calendar for 1916-1971 and there are printed maps in the back of the volume.
