Scope and Contents
Minute book, 1905-1908 and loose items, 1908 and undated of the Knights of the Church, Puer Lodge No. 1 (Goldsboro, Wayne County, N.C.). The religious organization for boys met in the I.O.O.F. (Independent Order of Odd Fellows) Orphanage in Goldsboro and at least some of the members were orphans of this I.O.O.F. institution. Recorded are passwords for each year, officers, ranks (like Grand Knight and Knight Secretary), members, attendance, reports, etc. Mentions songs performed during meeting and prayers recited. Loose items include minutes for some of the meetings, proposed questions for a summer contest, a letter and miscellaneous notes.
