Scope and Contents
Artifacts and memorabilia kept by members of the Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at William & Mary. In addition to memorabilia and a flier from the first class of pledges, there are also fliers from attempts to organize a chapter in the early 1990s and a circa 1960s fraternity sweater worn by Justin Reid's father when he was a student at what was then Virginia State College and is now Virginia State University. The collection also includes an autographed copy of William & Mary Chancellor Sandra Day O'Connor's memoirs, given to Justin Reid when he was a President's Aide in 2008 and A History of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, 1911-1961, that future members studied to learn about the fraternity's history before the William & Mary chapter was formed. Artifacts received with Acc. 2011.585 include: Embroidered Dashiki (2011.585.01), Omega Psi Phi Kente Cloth Stole (2011.585.02), Camouflage Cargo Pants (2011.585.03), Digital Watch with Canvas Strap (2011.585.04), Virginia State College Omega Psi Phi Sweater (2011.585.05), Class of 2009 Cipher Button Pin (2011.585.06), Rope with Wooden Lamp (2011.585.07), and Wooden Bead Necklace with Carved Pendant (2011.585.08).

Books received from the Chapter and shelved with the Archives Book Collection include: An autographed copy of W&M Chancellor Sandra Day O'Connor's memoirs, given to Justin Reid when he was a President's Aide in 2008; A history of the national fraternity, 1911-1961, that they studied to learn about the fraternity's history before the W&M chapter existed.

Purple and yellow woven cloth Kente stole. Hand-woven Black Greek fraternity Kente stole imported from Ghana, Africa. This stole was worn for ceremonies and graduations, and features the two Omega Psi Phi colors, purple and yellow, represented in the purple woven background color and yellow woven letters. Kente cloth worn by Justin Reid, Class of 2009, as the first member of OPP to graduate. Stole measures 72in. (length) x 4.5in. (width). 2009.

Size Large with regular inseam, made in China by Rothco, Ultra Force B.D.U. Pants inseam measures 32in. and waist measures 36in. Overall length measures 43.25in. Circa 2008. Camo pants worn by members while they were pledges in tribute to earlier members of the national OPP who helped desegregate the U.S. military. One green and black watch with nylon wristband. The watch features a digital dial which gives the time and day of the week, an LED backlight, and a compass stitched directly into the dark green woven nylon wristband . The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters. Watch measures 11.25in.(length) x 1.875in.(width). Watch worn by OPP pledge Justin Reid, Class of 2009, because being on time is very important for the pledges. circa 2008. Virginia State College Omega Psi Phi Sweater (Acc. 2011.585.05)1967EnglishScope and Contents
One purple and gold knit wool sweater. Wool v-neck sweater knitted in purple wool with gold knit contrast neckline and gold knit stripes on arms, cuffs, across the chest and on the hem. Twelve wool felt patches sewn on front and back of sweater including one 8.75in. patch on front with Omega Psi Phi coat of arms, one 6in. arm patch stitched with "Spring '67," one 15.5in. back patch with ? (omega) symbol and "omega psi phi" stitched in dark yellow thread, and one 5in. rectangular patch on rear hem with "George Reid JR" stitched in white thread. Made by Logan Kitting Mills in Chicago, Illinois. 1967. Sweater measures 28in.(length). Sweater worn by the father of Justin Reid (charter member of Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity) as a student at what was then Virginia State College and is now Virginia State University. One yellow and green aluminum button. Button has metal shell with pinned metal back and Mylar protecting cover. Front printed with a green background and center of button reads "Class of 09" and "W&M" cipher in yellow text. 2.25in. diameter. Button worn by OPP charter member Justin Reid at his graduation in 2009.

White nylon 0.375in. rope knotted at top with a wooden pendant. The nylon rope ends are wrapped in duct tape. Wooden shape of an Arabic Oil Lamp is painted with purple and black paint, and figure "4" painted in black on front and back. The number 4 signifies the first four charter members. Lamp measures 6 in. (width) x 3 in. (width) 1 in. (height). Object measures 17.5 in. long x 5.875 in. wide.

Wooden Bead Necklace with Carved Pendant (Acc. 2011.585.08)circa 2008EnglishScope and Contents
One brown leather cord necklace with wood beads and wooden pendant. Wood beads measure 0.375in. and necklace measures 20in. long overall. Carved wood pendant measures 3.75in. x 1.5in. and is painted in gold and purple on all sides with "Funky 4" "Fanatics" "Four Dog" "Flip Mode" and "ZM2". ZMM signifies Zeta Mu Mu, which is the Williamsburg graduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi. Necklace carved for the W&M chapter by a Charlottesville graduate. circa 2008.
