Biographical / Historical

The collection contains documents related to the William & Mary Workers' Union platform and their campaign materials. Around 2019 or 2020, they articulated their demands to the university.

Content Description

The contents consist of a UE Leadership guide, ten filled-out petition sheets, union platforms, thirty sheets of handouts, blank petitions, payroll deduction forms, and a "Protect W&M Jobs" facemask.

Scope and Contents

The William & Mary Workers' Union demands included health insurance, a "living wage" or $28,000 per year for full-time and $15 per hour for part-time workers, guaranteed summer funding for all graduate workers, equal funding packages between masters and PhD program participants, tuition waivers for all graduate works, affordable parking, and free printing across campus for graduate works. The binder, or UE Leadership Guide, contains items such as organizational structure, expansion tips, communication guides, arbitration matters, union financing, negotiation, and other resources.
