Abstract
Files of the West Virginia Historical Association of College and University Teachers including constitutions, publications,
minutes, reports, lists and an organizational history by William D. Barns. The association functioned as a lobby to the state
legislature on issues concerning professional historians, particularly legislation regarding the disposition of archival documents.
The association also served as a support group for historians in the state by sponsoring seminars, encouraging the presentation
of papers and fostering interaction among members in the profession.
