Abstract
Minute book of the Sand Hill District, Marshall County (W. Va.) Board of Education from 1884 to 1920. Records of board meetings
list present members and provide information about various aspects of the district's educational issues, including financial
issues (budget, balance due, expenses paid for items such as debts on property, repairs, text books, gas, coal, printing,
and the building and teachers' funds); maintenance of school buildings (new roof, painting, bids for repair, building a new
school house); appointments (commissioner, trustees); and operations (members of the board and terms of membership, length
of school year, teachers' salaries, district issues, subjects taught, and teacher certificates).
