Research notes copied by Mr. Hubbell from the government history of the Civil War entitled "War of the Rebellion: A Compilation
of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies." Mr. Hubbell took these notes for a narrative which he had hoped
to publish on Civil War in the Appalachian Mountains. Most of these notes are from sections of the "Official Records" pertaining
to West Virginia and nearby areas.
