Abstract
Copy of a manuscript letter written by Macajah Anderson Thorn to his father, Gordon Cloyd Torn, from Prison No. 2,Camp Chase, Ohio, dated November 18, 1864. Macajah was the grandfather of Gordon Thorn, the lender. At the time, the Thorn home was in Bland County Virginia. Macajah was a confederate captured near Moorefield. There is also included a copy of a typescript communication, 4/30/1926, from the U.S. War Department to Mrs. H. H. Ball, Princeton, W.Va. concerning Sgt. Thorn's War record.
