Scope and Contents

Materials pertaining to the Perry (Perri) family of Star City, West Virginia, an immigrant family originally from Italy. Also includes material about the Marra family, another Italian family that married into the Perry family. Includes material pertaining to Louis Warren Perry (1944-2011), his parents Joseph Ralph Perry (1905-1992) and Mary Constance (nee Marra) Perry (1915-1992), John Anthony Marra (1921-1999), and other relatives. Material regarding Lou documents his education at Morgantown High School, West Virginia University (including technical drawing course material from 1965-1966), and Michigan State University; a draft typescript about Cooks Coal Mining Camp in Meadowbrook, WV; and his genealogical research. Formats include clippings, photographs, memorabilia, books, cassette tapes (including two tapes of oral histories with Joseph Perry, and with Uncle Louie regarding the "51st"), correspondence, and more. This collection is minimally processed.
