Biographical Note

Thomas Lilley was a distiller, probably in Virginia.

In the 1810-1830 censuses, there is a Thomas Lilly living in Pearisburg, Giles County, Virginia with several others.

Scope and Content

The Thomas Lilley Distilling Account contains a record of rum distilling kept on a repurposed printed Virginia Militia inventory return. The records begin on November 10, 1820, run down one side and up the other, ending with October 21, 1821.
