Acquisition Information
The collection was donated by Betty Hudson Brown in December 2018 after being referred to Special Collections by Steve Smith, Legacy Officer for University Advancement (formerly Senior Vice President for University Advancement).
Processing Information
Several blank spiral notebooks were donated by Brown. They were disbound and the covers were retained to document the ephemeral nature of the notebook cover design which featured the Madison College seal. Blank notebook sheets and back covers were discarded.
Bio/Historical Note
Betty Lou Hudson Brown, daughter of Dorothy Bryan Hudson and William Bronsy Hudson of Salem, Virginia, matriculated at Madison College in 1967. She graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Madison, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.
Scope and Content
The Betty Hudson Brown Papers, 1967-1970, document Brown's time as a student at Madison College. Items include the covers of disbound course notebooks, a Class of 1969 talent show program, materials related to the Class of 1970 program "Sadie Sophomore Takes a Leap," Brown's freshman beanie, a Madison College patch, and a Founders Day program.
