Scope and Contents

This collection consists chiefly of portrait photographs and prints, photos, sketches, and paintings of West Virginia judges and law professors. Also included are facsimiles of letters written to two different justices and a facsimile of an award citation for Frank C. Haymond (a Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia, 1946-1972).

This series consists of facsimiles of letters written to two different justices. Dates for each letter entry refer to the date of facsimile not the date each letter was originally written.

    A photograph with a check written in permanent marker over the image. Check is real and canceled on the back by City National Bank of Charleston. Accompanying this is a typewritten, mock civil action citation in which Marlyn E. Lugar awards a donation check from the WV Prosecuting Attorneys Association to the WVU College of Law Centennial Club in which the check was to be "artfully placed upon my cranial area" which is done via the photograph being the check [2 pieces]
