Abstract
The RU Public Relations Video Collection Contains 487 video tapes in boxes 1-6. Tapes are in assorted formats, including VHS, DVCAM, mini DVCAM, DVD, and BetaCAM. Please check with the archivist to insure that the appropriate equipment is available to play each format. Boxes 7-13 include various formats, including 1-inch video tapes. For more information see the finding aid of the collection.

Boxes 1-6 transferred to the Archives by Jaslyn Gilbert, Video Producer, RU Division of Information Technology, in August 2011. Boxes 7-12 transferred to the Archives by Ashlee Claud, Director of Radio and TV Communication Services, in July 2012.

Scope and Content

Boxes 1-6 contain 487 video tapes in different formats that were originally created by Radford University, and primarily document events at Radford University. Many tapes have minimal labeling, and a number have no label at all. Subjects covered include athletic events, interviews with faculty, administrators, and guest artists, commencements, President Kyle's inauguration, and other events. Please refer to the attached container list for a complete inventory. Boxes 7-13 include various formats of video tapes donated by the RU Television station in 2012. A container list for these materials is pending.

Arrangement

Housed in 13 boxes. A container list is available in Box 1. Please note that many tapes are not labeled and their contents is unknown. Boxes 7-13 were donated by the Radford University TV station in 2012. Individual tapes have not been inventoried, and include VHS, 1-inch video tape, and other formats.
