Scope and Content Information
This addition to the papers of the Middle Atlantic Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, ca. 1952-1966, consists of ca. 440 slides of rhododendrons and related material, taken by Dr. Thomas Wheeldon, and a bound scrapbook containing a copy of the early by-laws, minutes, and membership of the Chapter, 1952-1963. Slides includes examples of Exbury azaleas, rhododendrons from the National Arboretum, Hilary G. Neighbors plants, rhododendrons of E.L. Manigault, Charles Owen Dexter hybrids, Joseph B. Gable hybrids, G. Guy Nearing crosses, peonies, and pictures from early meetings of the American Rhododendron Society.
