Acquisition Information
This letter was transferred from the Rare Books Division to the Manuscripts Division of Special Collections, University of Virginia Library on June 21, 1996. The item had formerly been laid in a copy of Scottsboro Limited (PS3515.U274 b S3 1932), with a presentation inscription by Taylor.
Scope and Content Information
This collection consists of a one page typed letter, March 14, 1941, from illustrator Prentiss Taylor (1907- ), Arlington, [Virginia],to "Dear Bet --," containing some personal news and mentions meeting Harold Lund, director of the Tuberculosis Association for the District of Columbia, at a party at the home of Hortense and Mr. Cikovsky. He also plans on sending her a copy of Scottsboro Limited which was written by Langston Hughes (1902-1967) and illustrated by himself (published in 1932).
