Scope and Content Information
This ledger, October 1923 - July 11, 1958, was kept by the Margaret Paxton Memorial Home, a children's home, in Leesburg, Virginia. The various types of debits include payments for insurance, utilities, legal fees, household expenses and supplies, labor, salary/wages, repairs, groceries, yard work, garden/farm supplies, and medical fees. The Home resources came from executor R. A. Paxton, interest on savings, stock/bond dividends, incoming rent, and proceeds from sales.
