These photographs were purchased by the Library from Jerry N. Showalter, Bookseller, Ivy, Virginia, on June 4, 1990.
Scope and Content Information
This collection consists of nine sepia and black and white photographs, originally taken in 1898, of Spanish-American War encampment sites and soldiers in training in Prince William County, Virginia. Identified locations and persons include Thoroughfare Gap, Walnut Farm, Cloverland, Mill Park, members of the Heineken family, Edward F. Wilkens, and Newton Ball.
