These items were purchased by the Library from Jerry N. Showalter, Bookseller, of Ivy, Virginia, on June 4, 1990.
Scope and Content Information
This collection consists of sixteen photographs, including eight stereographs, and one postcard, 1898-1906 and undated, of Arrington Hall, Falls Church, Virginia, the residence of former Union officer, Major Marcus S. Hopkins. Major Hopkins' diary may be found under accession number 4656. The photographs are of various views of the house, the backyard and orchard, the summer house, and the house during a blizzard. The postcard shows only the front steps and columns of the home.
