Sends thanks for a newspaper clipping relating to the flag of the Bon Homme Richard and her defeat of the Serapis . Preble wrote about the history of the flag in his forthcoming book. Mentions having promised an article to "The United Service." Mentions that he will dine with the Mass[achusetts] Cincinnati (a society of descendants of Revolutionary War officers).
