Scope and Content Information
In a series of letters and postcards, Algren writes to Targ re reading proofs of unpublished novels, his intention to write reviews, and the need to find someone who reads German to review the German copies of two unnamed books. Also include is a Christmas card, n.d.

Writes about meeting Mr. Appel at a party given by Russell Goodrich from Appleton-Century, his impression of Appel, and his intention of doing a review for Appel.
Mentions that the best book among the newly-arrived proofs of unpublished novels is a Harper book entitled The Awakening by Jean-Baptiste Rossi, the latest nom de plume of Vladimir Vassily Klecot, and thanks Targ for "The Witching Night."
Notifies Targ of his new address and phone number.
Algren suggests that he get someone who reads German to review the German copies of an unnamed book and to "send two to E. Germany andtwo to the West sothat, whoever makes out, posterity will not be deprived."
