Acquisition Information

The collection was given to the Library by Paul Collinge of Heartwood Books, Charlottesville, through K. Edward Lay, University of Virginia School of Architecture, on November 21, 1988.

Scope and Content Information

This addition to the papers of architect Stanislaw Makielski of Charlottesville, consists of seventeen undated items, including an elevation detail of a wrought iron rail for the Jolly Residence, a jeweler in Raleigh, North Carolina; four photographs of [Makielski ?] fishing; and notes concerning a cast shadow study for Milton Grigg's Virginia Beach Lutheran Church, and other rough architectural drawings, diagrams, and sketches. These items were removed from books formerly belonging to the libraries of Stanislaw and Bronislaw Makielski and sold to Heartwood Books.
