Scope and Content Information
These additional papers of Charlottesville architect, Stanislaw J. Makielski, consists of ca. 30 items, ca. 1915-1957, n.d., chiefly architectural drawings for his own residence in Charlottesville, Virginia; a photograph album of family portraits and World War I service; a small notebook containing "Memoirs of My Trip to Rome," kept by Lt. Stanislaw J. Makielski on his leave to Rome, March 5 through March 20, 1919, and a few pages about his embarkation on April 4, 1919, for his return trip home via New York on the S.S. Suriname . Also present are several army passes and orders, and a few souvenirs of his trip.
