These items were given to the Library by Miss Elizabeth Wilson Whitehead of Chatham, Virginia, through Mr. Herman Melton of Chatham, Virginia, on March 25, 1993.

Scope and Content Information

There are two items pertaining to Samuel Pannill Wilson of Pittsylvania County, Virginia, including a handwritten memorandum of agreement, December 13, 1851, between Wilson and three others--Berry Walker, Jesse Giles, and Oliver Shelton--concerning their hire as overseer for certain properties in Patrick County, Virginia; and, a list of Wilson's slaves in the same county.
