Scope and Content Information
This collection consists of ca. 95 items, 1971-1974,
concerning the Libertarian Party. Included are correspondence,
news releases, campaign material, and related papers, chiefly
pertaining to the organization of the party and its formative
years, including material regarding John Hospers' 1972
candidacy for President and later for the governorship of
California during the campaign of 1974. There is material on
the first National Libertarian Party Convention, as well as a
draft of the Statement of Principles for the party written by
Hospers at the convention.
