Scope and Content

This collections consists of 746 color slides of rhododendrons, azaleas, and related subjects, ca. 1950-1967, taken by Edward L. Manigault, Sr. They have been consecutively numbered and kept in the groups established by Mr. Manigault, with a miscellaneous grouping at the end. Each slide has been identified by the photographer on its mount.

The general groupings are as follows: 1) S.S. Lutea, (except calendulacea and nudiflora), and S.S. Schlippenbachi (SLIDES # 1-100); 2) American Rhododendron Society Tours -Gardens -Nurseries (SLIDES # 101-175,-a-h); 3) S.S. Lutea calendulacea and nudiflora, minor variants (SLIDES # 176-276); 4) S.S. Lutea cultivars, Ghent (including Plenum), Mollis (including Mixtum), Rhododendrons -Native and Hybrid, Camellias (SLIDES # 277-391); 5) S.S. Obtusa and cultivars, Indica, Mucronata, Yedoense, Pulchra, Sherwoodi, Pericat, Gable (SLIDES # 392-542); 6) A-1 for Horticultural Talks (SLIDES # 543-565); 7) Azalea Shrub Lecture, Landscaping (SLIDES # 566-578); 8) Sale Samples (SLIDES # 579-591); 9) S.S.
