Scope and Content
R.D. Blackmore , Teddington, writes to his friend, the Reverend C.J. Down , Herefordshire, January 4, 1899, notifying him that he has located a copy of Alice Lorraine which he will send on Monday. Declines the offer of a present of game from Down, "... I can't even do a bit of breast of pheasant -loathe all lovely grub & hate all victual."
