Scope and Content

This addition to the Hench-Blackmore Collection consists of an autograph letter signed from Richard Doddridge Blackmore , July 11, 1879, Teddington, to Messrs. Sampson Low, Marston & Company , thanking them for the royalty cheque covering three of his books, Clara Vaughan , Craddock Nowell , and Lorna Doone , and enclosing a receipt for the royalty payment, with Blackmore's signature across the one penny inland revenue stamp, on the inside page of the letter. He also asks them if there was not due 150 pounds on July first for Mary Anerley , 100 pounds having been paid in advance.
