Scope and Content
These additional papers of the
Thomas Jefferson Chapter of the Sons of the American
Revolution contain ca. 225 items (1 Hollinger box),
1971-1986, composed predominantly of correspondence and papers
of the Chapter's president , which include such material as the
reports from the nominating committees, membership lists, the
constitution of the organization, memoranda, treasurer's
report, agendas, and minutes.
The collection also has a small correspondence folder
concerning
Howard L. Hamilton , President General of
the Sons of the American Revolution; newsclippings concerning
the activities of members and obituaries of deceased members;
photographs of wreath-laying ceremonies at
Monticello , the
14th Virginia Regiment Fife & Drum
Corps , and Thomas Jefferson Chapter meetings; and
printed material such as the SAR Handbook,
The Virginia Bulletin , and the
SAR Magazine .
