Acquisition Information

This collection was given to the University of Virginia Library by Elizabeth Easton, Sherman, Connecticut, on March 11, 1997.

Scope and Content Information

This collection consists of letters, chiefly conveying personal news and comments on contemporary work, Christmas cards, birthday cards & other greetings from Warren Chappell to Lillian Bragdon and her daughter, Elizabeth Easton, most containing original artwork by Chappell. Other items include: an original pencil and charcoal sketch, with the words "Welcome to Chilmark"; a movable paper "game" board hand-drawn by Warren Chappell; a printed copy of Borzoi Battledore (1945 May) and a cover mock-up for Borzoi Books For Children designed by Warren Chappell.
