Scope and Content Information
In this letter, dated 17 April 1959, Katherine Anne Porter writes to Anne [?], expressing her negative opinion concerning the writing of book jacket blurbs, writing that they are a bore and perhaps even valueless to new authors, and stating that she had never written anything for a blurb, except for Edith Sitwell out of gratitude for her anthology of poetry. By the end of the letter she relents a little, agreeing to let "Anne" use her sentence concerning [Walter?] Clemons, "I think him an admirable, a superb writer, it rejoices my heart as always to see another brave new talent come forward," in advertising.
