This collection was given to the Library by Mr. John D. Forbes of Charlottesville, Virginia on January 6, 1987.
Scope and Content Information
These four newsclippings from the Sunday Star of Washington, D.C., and the Charlottesville Daily Progress, 1956-1959, feature the sculptress Cathe Wallendahl (Mrs. John A. Mowinckel), particularly her work on a bust of James Monroe. The Monroe bust was presented to the University of Virginia in honor of Colgate Darden, Jr., by Mrs. Jennings C. Wise of Charlottesville in December of 1958.
