Robert Walsh writes to Miss E. ---- Hoffman, expressing pleasure in corresponding with E. Hoffman, friend and hostess of his daughter, Isabella; describes steamboat trip with six of his children to visit Joseph Bonaparte and tour his classical house and grounds; forwards Bonaparte's regards to Isabella, and shares social news of Philadelphia: balls, music, receptions. Also mentions poetry of [Samuel] Rogers, Mr. Coleman, Mrs. Smith, Miss Ireland, and Miss Chapman.
