Scope and Content Information
Contained are 9 items, chiefly typed manuscripts, 1984, 1992, and n.d., of books by Albemarle County resident and author Elizabeth C. Langhorne. There are typed manuscript versions of Monticello: a Family Story ; and, A Virginia Family and its Plantation Houses under earlier titles of "A Family of Builders of the Old South," "A Family of Houses," and "A Virginia Family and Their Country Houses." Among the manuscripts are many autograph revisions and revised pages by the author. There is also an essay entitled "Monticello Marriage," with autograph revisions and revised pages by the author; and, a page proof, 1992, of Worlds Collide on Vieques: An Intimate Portrait from the Time of Columbus , with some autograph revisions by the author. In addition, there are oversize autograph manuscript pages for Monticello: A Family Story and a few for a book on Vieques.
